Ever dreamed of having your own army of AI assistants doing research for you? Well, it’s not just a dream anymore! In this post, I’ll walk you through how to create fully autonomous AI research agents using Perplexity AI and Make.com. This powerful combo can handle everything from summarizing content to creating social media posts, all without you lifting a finger.
What We’re Building
Here’s the rundown of our awesome automation:
- Feed Perplexity AI a prompt and URL (could be a YouTube video, Reddit post, or article)
- Transform that into a Google Doc script
- Send it to three different GPT specialist agents to create:
- A LinkedIn post
- A tweet
- A Facebook post
From one URL, you get four different content outputs. Pretty cool, right?
The Tools We’ll Use
- Perplexity AI: Think of it as ChatGPT plus Google. It can analyze URLs and pull out insights.
- Make.com: A no-code automation tool that lets you connect hundreds of apps.
- ChatGPT: We’ll use this to create specialist AI agents for different tasks.
Step 1: Setting Up Make.com
- Create a new scenario in Make.com
- Search for the Perplexity module (you’ll need to install it from a third-party website)
- Add the Perplexity module to your scenario
Step 2: Configuring Perplexity AI
- Add credits to your Perplexity account
- Set up the Perplexity module in Make.com
- Create a prompt for Perplexity (I’ll give you an example in a bit)
Step 3: Adding Google Docs Integration
- Add the Google Docs module to your Make.com scenario
- Configure it to create a new document or append to an existing one
Step 4: Creating Specialist GPT Agents
- Use ChatGPT to create custom instructions for each agent (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook)
- Set up these agents in the OpenAI platform
- Add ChatGPT modules to your Make.com scenario for each agent
Step 5: Putting It All Together
- Use a router in Make.com to send the Perplexity output to Google Docs and each GPT agent
- Configure the flow to create the desired outputs
- Add modules to post directly to social media platforms (optional)
An Example in Action
Let’s say we want to create content about personal finance. We could start with a Reddit post about 401k vesting schedules. Here’s a sample prompt for Perplexity:
You are a summarization expert who can identify the most salient and exciting aspects of any Reddit post and comment section. Summarize [URL] and complete further research on this topic to provide data points. 1. Summarize the article 2. Summarize the comments to provide unique perspectives 3. Provide your own insights and research with data points
This prompt will give you a comprehensive overview of the topic, including different viewpoints and hard data.
The Power of Automation
Imagine running this automation every hour, day, or week. You’d have a constant stream of researched, summarized, and reformatted content ready for your use. It’s like having a team of researchers and content creators working for you 24/7!
Wrapping Up
This is just scratching the surface of what’s possible with AI research agents. The applications are endless – from content creation to market research to staying on top of industry trends.
